Just a quick note to tell everyone we are okay here in SD. The fires are far from us, but we can smell the burning and this morning I saw some ashes drifting from the air like snowflakes. The air quality is very poor, so the authorities are telling people to stay indoors. They’re also saying to keep off the roads to clear pathways for emergency vehicles and evacuees. Many people have been affected. I think all of us know at least 5 or 6 families that have needed to evacuate. San Diego public schools have all closed for the week, so my son is staying home with me.

You can see the clouds of smoke and the flames reflecting into the sky with a pink glow. Here’s a photo this morning:

See how the air is completely full of smoke. Last night I could even see some fires burning on the mountains. We hope the fires will be contained soon and feel for all the losses that people have suffered. Thanks for your thoughts.
